student and her artwork

Several talented Mahopac CSD artists recently showcased their artwork in the “SITE 2025” exhibition at the Garrison Art Center in Garrison. The exhibit, which ran from March 15-30, was centered around the theme of “Exploring Identity.” The theme allowed students from each of the district’s schools, alongside students from neighboring districts, to express themselves through various forms of art, exploring how they perceive themselves, their culture and personal experiences.

The exhibit celebrated the diverse ways in which identity shapes our world, with each student’s piece offering a unique perspective on the many factors that contribute to our sense of self. Mahopac art department chair and high school art teacher Kaitlin O’Brien expressed how proud she was of all the students’ participation.

“The opportunity to be part of such a meaningful exhibition allowed our students to truly reflect on their identities and express them creatively,” O’Brien said. “It’s inspiring to see their hard work come to life in such a powerful way. I’m proud of each one of them for embracing this theme and contributing to such an impactful show.”

The “SITE 2025” exhibit provided a platform for Mahopac students to reflect on their unique backgrounds and share their stories through the medium of art, adding depth to the ongoing conversation about identity and self-expression.
